About me

Hi, I'm Anna Hartley, a twenty-something student from Brisbane, and a freelance journalist.

I aim to gain a paid position in a news role upon graduating. I am currently completing a dual degree in Journalism/Arts majoring in German and International Relations at the University of Queensland.

I enjoy radio, online and broadcast journalism and have a particularly keen interest in print.

My work has been aired on 101.1FM, and published on newspaper and online forums through the Queensland Times. I am eager to learn new skills and am currently enjoying gaining experience through independent freelancing.

If you'd like to see a bit more of my work feel free to view it on my website here, you can also connect with me on Linked In and view my profile here.

A little more...

At the moment I live a bit less than an hour outside of Brisbane in a small “town-ship” called Peak Crossing (I was recently informed that ‘town’ was an overly ambitious term to describe Peak). I live with my two parents, my little-big brother who is 17 and the height of a small building and my twin sister, who is my polar opposite.

After high school I decided I was completely and utterly sick of study and for the first three months of 2012 I traveled around Europe, which I can honestly say was the best experience of my life so far. I definitely want to continue to travel and I hope that I can do this, and much more, through a career in journalism. I love meeting new people and firmly believe that everyone has a story to tell.

I love live music, poetry and art and play a bit of acoustic guitar (although not very well). I am also a part-time experimental cook and love to try anything new. I’m all for grasping the opportunities presented to us and I try to live by the simple motto of ‘Why not?’

Radio Documentary - "We all lead a double life."

Meet Sally Taylor.

Barrister by day, amateur actress by night and full-time mother of one.

A radio documentary examining the surprising similarities of the young Australian's two seemingly opposing passions. Sally is a perfect example of how the modern day, multi-tasking Australian plays a number of different roles in the many stages of life.
